Maintenance

Ground Control
We value our success and like to ensure that every project's conclusion is maintained into the future. The right choice of maintenance can transform the performance of any sports surface quickly and efficiently, minimising the time lost due to major construction works. From 'Groundbreaking' to scarification, sand spreading to top dressing, we always recommend a schedule of maintenance that is as affordable as it is practical.

Top Dressing
Top dressing with sand, screened soil, turf dressing, lime or fertiliser can be carried out in conjunction with the vertidraining operation to rejuvenate the playing surface and improve soil structure.

Accurate application can be achieved using our high capacity spreaders, fitted with flotation tyres to reduce compaction and disturbance of the playing surface.

Over Seeding
Seed can be injected directly into the undisturbed surface 5-15mm deep using our disc seeders. This is ideally suited to winter games pitches or land that cannot be cultivated into a seedbed in the normal way.

De-Compaction
Compaction of the playing surface is a major problem with all sports and amenity areas, impeding natural drainage and turf growth. Frequent play, especially in wet and unsuitable condition, smears and compacts the surface layers, rendering the area unusable, resulting in cancelled fixtures and loss of revenue.

Vertidraining
We recommend that Vertidraining should be carried out annually as a necessary maintenance operation.

A series of tines penetrate the ground to a maximum depth of 400mm, spacing and tine size vary according to requirements. The result is the shattering of compacted layers and the complete aeration of the playing surface, providing continuity between the surface and the more permeable subsoil or drainage system below.

The vertidrain does not foul or damage the suface and normal use can resume immediately.

Ground Breaking
Soil compaction is one of the biggest problems in sports turf areas - grass roots suffer from lack of air and water, and nutrients cannot filter through effectively. The answer to the problem is a GROUND BREAKER which decompacts and drains the soil all in one pass, in the hardest of conditions, with very little surface disturbance and allowing play to commence immediately afterwards. The GROUND BREAKER design allows use on a wide range of sports areas from golf greens to amenity areas.

The BLEC Sandmaster is a unique one pass surface draining machine. Designed to work on a wide range of sports surfaces where compaction and drainage is a problem, i.e. golf greens, fairways, athletic fields, parks, ball fields, soccer pitches etc.

The REAR MOUNTED SAND MASTER is equipped with 1" wide (¾" optional) coulter lines which open up the slit produced by the GROUND BREAKER blades, down to a depth between 4" - 8". A stainless steel sand hopper is fitted with twin rubber coated powered rollers and an agitator rotor. The feed rollers are adjustable for gap and speed to allow a wide range of materials to be spread i.e. wet or dry sand, gravel, Lytag, clay profile compost polymers etc.
