Completed Project: Challney Girls School, Luton - Wates, including synthetic turf hockey pitch construction

2 Natural pitches, 4 court MUGA and full size floodlit synthetic turf hockey pitch construction commenced on site at the end of July with an expected 14 week construction programme. The design incorporated the synthetic pitches as part of the overall site attenuation system for the new school site and was constructed over a 450mm piped linear soak-away and a 600mm stone raft. The works were completed within a nine week period exceeding all expectations, resulting in early handover of the sports facilities to the school and a football match between "A-power" and the "Wates Allstars." Tony Mulcahy, project manager for Wates commented: _"To be honest I was very impressed. Agripower showed great commitment on site and men or machinery were never an issue. They also know their business on MUGAs and AWP's, provide a good level of technical back up and a decent design capability. To top it off they finished the project early. Would I use them again? No problem!"_ Agripower are all extremely proud of the project at Challney and would like to thank our own staff and those at Wates who have worked together to create a fantastic facility for the school.
