Case Study:

Croft Sports Centre Swindon

Croft Sports Centre Swindon

Agripower was awarded the project via leading main contractor M J Church. We were chosen not only because of our 40 years' experience in the building of natural and synthetic pitches but due to our in-house abilities, comprehensive fleet of specialist plant and machinery and our own highly trained team of staff.

1st phase: A third generation floodlit and fenced multi use games area surrounded by some complex hard and soft landscaping. A large scale earthmoving operation was undertaken to produce a suitable construction plateau that was subjected to dynamic compaction testing ensuring a solid foundation was achieved. The surface used was Desso's IDNA a new revolutionary sports system.

2nd phase: The total reconstruction and re-profiling of 50,00m2 of football pitches. This encompassed a contractor designed sustainable urban drainage design. This was designed in house using our 'micro drainage' calculation software. The pitches were seeded in Spring 2014 using a specifically designed mix and maintained by Agripower until handed over to the client for full use in October 2014. A cricket square was also constructed together with an adjacent artificial match wicket and a two bay practice facility all to England and Wales Cricket Board approval Standards.
